Every three minutes a child dies on the world's roads. Richard Burt joined Liberal Democrat MPs and delegates at a 'Make Roads Safe' campaign reception at the Party's annual conference in Brighton recently.

The West Worcestershire parliamentary candidate, along with his MP colleagues, signed a postcard to International Development Secretary, Hilary Benn, calling for 10% of all overseas development aid for road building to be spent on road safety measures.

"New roads in developing countries often result in very high child death and injury rates through road accidents. Road safety should be an integral part of every grant aid scheme that is approved, to help save children's lives," said Richard.
