Burt To Visit Closure-Threatened Pershore Care Centre

Pershore's Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate, Richard Burt will visit Pershore Care Centre for profoundly handicapped adults on Friday 7th March at 11.00am

Mr Burt will meet residents and parents at the Centre who are fighting against Worcestershire County Council's closure plans.

A 4,500 petition supporting the Centre has already been handed to County Council Leader, Cllr George Lord and the closure decision has been called before a scrutiny committee before the closure goes ahead.

Richard Burt said: "Pershore Care Centre has been operating successfully for twenty years and has always been generously supported by residents in the town. Parents are very happy with the care their children receive, so why change it?

"I look forward to visiting the Centre and will do all I can to support the campaign to keep it open."
